Venom: The Last Dance is pure chaotic fun, and honestly, I had a blast with it. At this point, I’m not sure if Sony is trying to make MCU-quality movies with their Spider-Verse or leaning fully into campy entertainment. Either way, this movie embraces its absurdity in the best way possible.

While it’s not groundbreaking cinema, it delivers exactly what it promises: wild action, great humor, and a surprising amount of heart. Watching this, I couldn’t help but wish that Madame Web and Morbius had followed a similar formula. This is exactly what those movies should have been.

Balancing Humor, Action, and Heart

One of the strongest aspects of Venom: The Last Dance is how it balances its humor and action. The movie doesn’t take itself too seriously, which works perfectly for Venom and Eddie’s chaotic dynamic. The humor lands consistently, with plenty of laugh-out-loud moments that kept me entertained throughout.

The action sequences are just as fun. From start to finish, the movie is packed with thrilling set pieces, each more over-the-top than the last. While it doesn’t reinvent the wheel, the creativity and energy in the action kept me hooked.

Surprisingly, the movie also delivers some emotional depth, especially towards the end. Eddie and Venom’s relationship feels like it comes full circle, with their growth as partners being both heartfelt and satisfying. It’s a reminder that, at its core, this franchise is about an unlikely friendship that’s grown into something unique and entertaining.

Knull Falls Flat, but the Movie Doesn’t

The movie does attempt to introduce Knull, but it didn’t really work for me. Sony seems to be going for an MCU-style approach, giving him a grand entrance and a deeper backstory akin to Thanos. Unfortunately, it just doesn’t land the same way. Knull doesn’t have the weight or presence needed to feel like a true threat, and his scenes didn’t leave much of an impact.

That said, Knull’s shortcomings don’t derail the movie. The focus stays on Eddie and Venom, and that’s where the film truly shines. Their bond, their banter, and their growth make this movie a joy to watch, even if the villain feels like an afterthought.

Final Thoughts on Venom: The Last Dance

Venom: The Last Dance is the kind of movie that knows exactly what it is and leans into it. It’s hilarious, action-packed, and surprisingly heartfelt, delivering a full-circle story for Eddie and Venom that’s as entertaining as it is satisfying.

While it’s not “cinema” in the traditional sense, it doesn’t need to be. This is pure, unfiltered fun, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want. Even if Knull didn’t leave much of an impression, the humor, action, and emotional moments more than make up for it.

If Sony is leaning into this brand of campy, over-the-top entertainment, I’m all for it. Venom: The Last Dance shows that chaotic fun can still be great fun, and I can’t wait to see where this dynamic duo goes next.
