The Devourer of Worlds, one of Marvel’s most powerful characters has finally been cast. Ralph Ineson Galactus will be the main antagonist of The Fantastic Four and many fans cannot wait to see this giant devourer on the big screen. Galactus is a character from Marvel comics who is a celestial being that absorbs the life force of planets throughout the universe in order to sustain himself. Known as the Devourer of Worlds, Galactus has been out of the limelight in terms of live action Marvel projects and now we will finally be seeing the great and powerful Galactus make his debut.
Ralph Ineson Galactus Revealed
Many fans believed actors such as Javier Bardem or Antonio Banderas to play the world eater due to their unique and deep voices that would truly bring the character to life. However it seems that Ralph Ineson has now been casted as Galactus which is an unexpected but welcomed surprise. Ralph Ineson is known for his roles in Harry Potter, The Witch, Game of Thrones and even in The Office (UK).
Ralph Ineson Galactus is a perfect choice for the MCU. So far the cast of The Fantastic Four has been incredible and with Ralph Ineson Galactus joining the cast, the anticipation for this movie only grows. Galactus unfortunately hasn’t seen much screentime with his only role being in the Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer movie but fans were left upset with his appearance being completely different to his comic book appearance and looked like a giant space cloud.
Although the plot of the movie wasn’t completely terrible, fans have wanted Galactus to return in all his purple glory and finally Ralph Ineson Galactus will fit the bill. It has been rumoured that Ralph Ineson Galactus will team up with a Shalla-Bal Silver Surfer and will attempt to destroy this version of Earth we will see in The Fantastic Four, separate to Earth 616 that we have seen in all MCU projects to date.
Ralph Ineson Galactus would be the central antagonist and is rumoured to destroy the Fantastic Four’s world, only for them to migrate over to Earth 616 to continue to live their lives. The fact that the team’s world could be destroyed and they are forced to migrate over to another world would be an incredible dynamic to explore for the team in future Marvel projects.
The Future of Galactus
It would also add to the stakes if Ralph Ineson Galactus returns in a MCU project set in Earth 616 after The Fantastic Four. YTou can imagine the Fantastic Four spotting signs of Ralph Ineson Galactus and Reed Richards goes around warning the other heroes such as the X-Men and Avengers that Galactus is coming and he destroyed their world.
All in all Ralph Ineson as Galactus is a great casting choice and it can be said that he would bring a lot of depth to the character and the voice acting would add to the weight of the threat that the world eater would present to the Fantastic Four. Ralph Ineson is likely to be simply voice acting the character and maybe providing some motion capture too. His appearance and voice would be perfect for the role and with his acting ability, Galactus could truly feel like a threat straight out of the comic books.
There is of course the classic question of whether he is a one time deal or will Galactus return. Well if the Fantastic Four do come from another universe then once they arrive in Earth 616 there is a possibility that the 616 Galactus could turn up again. Whether Ralph Ineson will reprise his role as Galactus surely depends on the story of the movie as well as the overall fan reaction to Ralph Ineson’s performance as Galactus.
Nevertheless, fans are excited and hopeful for Galactus’ debut and we hope Ralph Ineson does the character justice.
